"Sin and guilt (so far as I can see) are personal matters, as much as knowledge, and I can as easily conceive of one man's knowledge being imputed to another as of his sins being so" (p. 6). If men were body and soul in the loins of Adam, they were not moral agents and so not accountable , and if they did sin in Adam, imputation was unnecessary and impossible (p. 9).
